Last week was a good mail week. A good mail week is when there are less bills and more cool stuff.

First, on Thursday, this arrived:

This is the yarn that I chose for the mysterystolealong. The color is Verde Granada. (I have a thing for green and I’m going with it lately) There is still time to join the mysterystolealong if you haven’t yet. The first clue won’t be released until Wednesday. Come on and join…you know you want to!!

Next..Friday brought this:

*DROOL* You will never guess how much I paid for this book. A whole whopping 94 cents. *grin* I participate in a site called MyPoints. My points send out a couple of “bonus mail” emails every day. If you click on the link in the email you get some points. If you complete the offer in the email you get even more points. Some time last month, they had an email about blockbuster online (which I was considering doing anyway) and I completed the offer and got 2000 points. I already had about 1500 so I redeemed my points for a $25 Barnes and Noble Gift Certificate. So, that’s how I only paid 94 cents for “A Gathering of Lace.” If you are interested in doing the My Points stuff, let me know and I can send you an invitation.

And last, but certainly not least, Saturday brought these:

Beautiful stitch markers as a RAOK from the lovely Laura. Thanks so much Laura! With all the lace knitting I’ve been doing lately, I’ve been running out of markers.

All in all I’d say that was a good mail week, wouldn’t you??

Next post: I’ll be showing some of the yarn that I’ve made with the roving we dyed last week. Two skeins done so far. Stay tuned.

Specs:
Cobweb Shawl by Emma Crew from magknits
Handspun Merino Superwash wool from Verna (she sent roving..I spun the yarn)
Size 9 circs (Silvalume - I think)

There’s a couple more photos here and they are actually more true to the color. It’s lavendar.

I have a bit of the yarn left and I think I’m going to see if I can make Branching Out from the leftovers. It may not work out, but it will be good practice.

I think I’m addicted to lace now. A wonderful lady.. DeAnn (shawl goddess!!) posted on the Knitters Review Forums that she had some lace patterns free to a good home and I pm’d her and she’s sending them to me!!! My needles are ready to go!!

While I was gone on the trip I got a wonderful RAOK from Cindy.

Sorry for the crappy photo, but aren’t they lovely!! I can’t ever have enough stitch markers!

OH..happy news about the Pi Shawl. I was surely going to run out of yarn. Yarn that was so lovingly gifted to me by Jen. I was all depressed because I really wanted to finish the shawl. So anyway..lamenting the fact that I would have to buy some more…but didn’t want to pay the full price..(hey..I like the good stuff, but I’m cheap) I searched around the internet. What did I find?? A sale Baby!!! OH yeah! $3 off per ball. Just so you know, 5 more lovely balls are on their way to me so that I can finish the shawl. Last time I checked they had just departed Massachusetts.

Oh..and I’m working on a hat for the Dulaan Project. Norma inspired me. So I picked up some of my leftover handspun stuff and started knitting this morning. Photo upon completion.

(what’s with the linkage in this post??)

I brought mom home yesterday. She’s doing much better even though she’s on oxygen at all times right now. That’s supposed to be temporary. Thanks to everyone who sent well wishes. She is on the mend now.

This is a really crappy photo of the dishcloth that I made the night I went and knitted with the beginners.

Its hard to see, but it has a moss stitch heart in the middle of it.

I was bored yesterday and got creative. I call this my “scrapbag hat.” It’s made from leftover yarn. The solid blue is some Lambs Pride that I had leftover from a mitten project and the other colors are two different colors of Noro Kureyon (sorry, can’t remember the color numbers off hand and I didn’t have the ball band anymore). I think it turned out really cute!

What do you guys think??

Here’s the photo I mentioned yesterday. He loves winding yarn.

I never showed him, he just figured it out on his own.

We approved around 8 new members to the FiberRAOK ring yesterday. Welcome all you new people!! Hope you have a blast!!

If this post seems a little brain dead, I had a statistics test today, and I have no braincells left.
