The Rules: Rules are posted at the beginning. At the end of the post, the player tags 5 people and posts their names. Then the player goes to each of the “named” people’s blogs and leaves a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. If you’ve been tagged, you do the same, letting the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer. They, in turn, answer the following questions. Here we go!

1. What was I doing 10 years ago?

I had an almost 1 year old and an 8 year old and I was working at a lawyer’s office. I was trying to work things out with hubby #1 but he wasn’t trying much. Pretty much just working and taking care of kids.

2. What are 5 things on my to-do list today? (Well, I have more than five, but I’ll stop there.)

  • Laundry
  • knit something
  • finish ripping up bathroom tile
  • pay bills (blech)
  • organize hencircle penpal stuff

3. Snacks I enjoy:

Dr.Pepper, Little Debbie Star Crunch, Mt. Dew, popcorn with an obscene amount of butter, wafer cookies, sour patch kids

4. Places I’ve lived:

I’ve only ever lived in Texas so these are places in Texas – Longview, Liberty City(formerly known as Hogeye), Spring Hill and Sweeny

5. Things I would do if I were a billionaire:

Hello can you say big house with lots of land? I want a farm with animals, sheeps and horses and bunnies and goats. I might even grow something. Have to have farm hands though, and a maid. Oh..and I want a studio with spinning wheels and looms and things like that. I’d buy my dream wheel and loom.

I’d like to do something to help teach fiber arts so maybe open my studio up for campers and have teachers and things in.

(If we were billionaires, Manperson wants to build a castle and also have an area that we could rent out to SCA groups to hold events.)

Ok..so I’m tagging Joy, Faerielady, Dani, Aimee and Geebaloo

Yeah..see that, up there in the title….I FINISHED SOMETHING! Guess what? It’s not socks! It’s not even something I posted about starting. You see, Kae sent me this lubberly yarn for my b-day. D’zined Wool-Hemp Sportweight. It just screamed at me  – “I want to be an EZ February Baby Sweater!!!” Not to be one to tell yarn “NO”, I cast on.  I finished this Saturday at SnB and walked next door to Michaels and found the cutest buttons.

Up to our eyebrows in icing…

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

The daughter child and I decided to take a Wilton’s Cake Decorating course. I think we’ve become comic relief for the rest of the class, but we’re having a good time. The instructor keeps having to tell the girl child to quit licking the icing off of the end of her tip, but other than that we’re good.

My first two cakes.  Be gentle with us.  We have one more class next Monday and we  have to do our final. In order to get our certificate we have to make 3 Roses. I’m not sure I’ll get mine.

Look ma..I finished something!

mitts.jpg

I made these fingerless mitts in two evenings out of some of my own handspun yarn. The fiber was Dragonhair. If I remember right its wool/silk blend and it has angelina in it. It sparkles, but i don’t think you can see it in the photo.  I use WendyKnit’s fingerless mitts pattern and it was very quick work. I’m now working on the second Roza’s sock and my second stocking. Hopefully I’ll have progress to show soon.

Oh..I got my Ravelry invite. If you’re over there add me as a friend, I’m KnitSteph of course!
