A fun knit

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

When I finished my MR. Mmmmalabrigojeans the other day, I had most of one ball left. (I had only knit the last 4rows out of it.) I hunted around Ravelry and found the slouchy copy cat hat pattern so I cast on!

This is a great pattern! It is an oversized hat and I really like that. Of course the malabrigo is scrumptious, so it made a squishy hat.

Sorry for the bad iPhone photo, the laptop is still in the shop.

Finito!

Last night I finished my Mr. Mmmmalabrigojeans. I need to get a button for it …and block it, but I’ve already worn it. It’s soooo soft.

Hopefully I’ll get another photo of it in action soon. It’s very comfy and it fits very well. I used 5 balls and just enough of the 6th ball to do the last 4 rows and bind off of the button band. I found that this pattern was written very well and easy to follow. I may do it again at a later date.

Busy little bee

I’m posting from my phone because my trusty red laptop is in the laptop hospital. Last night she decided to freeze on me and the geek squad guy thinks I had hard drive failure. :(

Anyway, I’ve been busy! I did some spinning the other day and plied two bobbins full! I have finished one sleeve and I’m plugging away on sleeve #2 of Mr Mmmmalabrigojeans. I might actually get to wear it this winter!

The yarn came for my piece of commissioned knitting and I have worked on that a bit too.

The two photos below show my plied bobbins and the sleeve of Mr Mmmalabrigojeans! Enjoy!

Happy New Year!

I can’t believe it’s 2009 already. Seems like 2008 just started. Lots of things going on at Casa de KnitSteph. The past two days have been spent emptying out a room and then painting it and laying tile. This was the girl child’s old room and I will be moving the boys over into there.

Once we have them all moved then I get a STUDIO! I’m going to paint and tile their old room and it will be all for me! I want to put my glass stuff, loom, sewing machine and yarn all in there. This will free up a LOT of room in my living room, part of which we’ll be turning into a library of sorts. Lots of bookcases and maybe a comfy chair to sit in to read.

I have to start actually looking for work next week. I’m probably going to be working as a sub for a while and hope to get into a contract come August.  I haven’t knit in two days, so I’m getting off of here now and work on a sock a bit. Tomorrow we’ll be moving the boys into their new room and sorting through their things and decluttering. Another busy day!
