why in the heck I’ve become addicted to So You Think You Can Dance? I never watch these kind of shows, but I find myself watching this every time its on. Anyone else addicted to the show??

So the new Knitty is out. I thought maybe I’d give my opinions of the patterns. (not that I’m some uber-blogger or anything, but hey..its something to blog about)

Fetching - I like fingerless gloves and I like this pattern and I’ll probably make it sometime in the future.

Carpathia - I also like making gloves and I may try this pattern. I think what is making me not immediately drawn to this pattern is the choice of yarn colors. I like purple, but I think that it doesn’t quite work with this pattern. (Maybe it does look better in person and doesn’t photograph well)

Perdita - I LOVE these. Actually, I went out and got beads today and I’m making one. I also started one out of leftover sock yarn without beads. (good way to use up those tiny bits of leftovers). Joy saw the pattern and requested that I make one for her, but a bit longer so she can wear it for a choker, so I am going to give that a try as soon as I finish the purple one for ME!

Muff - I can see how this might be useful, but its just not something I’d make.

Knucks - LOVE EM! I think I’ll make some and put WSSL on the fingers.

Reptilian Lace,  RPM, Widdershins, Baudelaire, Dancing Lady  - Well.they’re socks, so I like them.

Lickety Split -  While i like the concept of these, I don’t think I’d ever wear them. I might see about adapting the design so they have a normal toe. (and am I the only one who noticed that it’s a Japanse inspired sock with a Chinese zodiac symbol on it?)

Tulip Toes - Adorable!! but i dont have any little ones around me, but I could see me doing them if I need a quick baby gift.

Lacanau - Why??

Half Dome - Interesting..I’ll have to talk to some of my bald male friends and see what they have to say.

Maze - I like the pattern on this hat. If I were to make it though, I’ll probably make it longer so that it actually covers a head.

Crosspatch - I’m still kind of torn on this one. I don’t wear hats much so I’m kind of biased. I asked my mom if she’d wear a hat like this and she said yes. I may give it a try.

Sock Monkey Hat - Ok..everyone in my house thinks its adorable.

Klien Bottle Hat - I’m as big a geek as the next person, but I’m not liking this pattern. I don’t know exactly what it is.

Swell - I like this one for two reasons. 1) neat hat and 2) may work well for the knitted arming caps I want to make for SCA (done in cotton and with no pattern)

Julie - uhhh…..

Manresa - are legwarmers this year’s poncho? I do like the pattern on them, but I can’t see me ever making legwarmers.

Allete - knitted wings…. cute, but I really doubt I’ll be making some.

Lillies - I like these. I could see them in someones bouquet for a wedding. Then they’d be something you could actually keep after the wedding.

There ya go… my review of the Summer Knitty.
