This is a story about a knitter. She’s a single mom of three wonderful *cough* children and also a full time college student. She is also a member of a group called The Society for Creative Anachronism.
In other words..she’s a very busy woman. This knitter seems to have knitting ADD. She joined in the Knitting Olympics without realizing she had exams in all her classes over the two week period of the olympics AND she got bored with the glove and didn’t finish it even though she only had two fingers and a thumb left to knit. She’s working on a test knit of a Guernsey sweater for the very very wonderful and patient Jen, (go buy some of her patterns..they’re lovely!!) and will be finishing that up soon. This knitter has a problem though. I call it the “oooo…shiney” problem. A new pattern comes out and she goes…”oooo..shiney” and wants to knit it…NOW! Not only does she have the “oooo…shiney” problem, she has the problem of deciding in the middle of packing tons of garb for spending a week camping in the woods with the SCA that she needs a new handknit washcloth..and if she has one her daughter needs one too…so instead of packing, she’s knitting. WASHCLOTHS.
In case you haven’t figured it out yet, this knitter is ME. I’ll be leaving on Sunday and won’t be back until late the next Sunday. (yes..i’ve finished one washcloth and decided that the daughter can use one of our old handknit washcloths)
I’m taking a drop spindle and some lovely roving with me to war and probably some knitting, though I haven’t decided what yet. I’m taking my laptop so I can upload photos of my camera every so often, but I doubt I’ll have internet access in the boonies of Mississippi so don’t expect any posts. (like I’ve been doing much of that anyway)
Everyone behave while I’m gone and don’t put out any more new good patterns til I get back, PLEASE??!!??

Ooh, take lots of pics. Handknit washclothes are essential for camping, uh-huh.

It’s so good to see you back online!! I’m glad you had fun and am very jealous of that lovely fiber!! The new drop spindle looks very cool, too.
