Not going to finish…

Saturday, February 25th, 2006

I’m not going to finish my Knitting Olympics project. I’ve gone one glove almost finished. (two fingers and a thumb and I’m done)

If I had looked at my class schedule and noticed that I had 4 tests in this two week period, I wouldn’t have even signed up.

Also, I’m having Knitters ADD. I can stay focused on one project very long.

I’ll post a photo later of my project. Maybe I can at least finish the fingers and thumb first. LOL

Where were you in ‘42?

That was the title of my daughter’s performance tonight. She participates in a swing dancing group at her High School and they have been working all year for this performance. The performance was a benefit for a local Nursing Home.

Here she is before the performance (click to enlarge)

Carmen

The kids decorated the hall that they used all by themselves and the dances were all choreographed by a couple of the kids. There was an older lady who came on stage and was going through a hope chest and then they had a video showing behind her which was supposed to be her memories. She was remembering meeting her husband to be, sending him off to war and her wedding. The very end of the show the husband came out and danced with her. It was very romantic and I got a bit teary eyed. Then after that the whole group danced together in a 5 minute number. My digital camera also makes videos so I shot a few short clips of them during the last dance.  I put all the photos and videos up in one album.

Sorry if they aren’t very clear, but its all my little digi cam will do. Everyone was really impressed and the kids all did really well. I’m hoping she’ll continue doing this throughout High School and even further.

Maybe when I lose more weight I’ll take it up too?? HA!

They also made the local paper! newspaper

First Weigh In

Monday, February 13th, 2006

I had my first weekly weigh in since starting Weight Watchers last week and I’ve lost 4 lbs already. Hopefully I can keep this up. I’d actually like to wear a swimsuit this summer. ;)

I noticed that there are many knit/crochet/spin/weave bloggers that are all on weightloss programs and then I remembered that I had started a blog for us when I had attempted to lose weight last year sometime. I have decided to re-start that blog and if anyone else is interested in joining, feel free to come on by.

The blog is Fiberblogger Weightloss Support and its hosted on blogspot, if you’d like to join, just comment or shoot me an email and I’ll send you an invitation. If you don’t have a blogger blog, you don’t have to start a blog, but you will need a blogger ID.

Happy weight loss and knitting everyone!!

Got a good start

Before I went to bed I had this….

I think I made some good progress. I’m at the beginning of the palm. (Yeah I know it looksl ike a cabled tube LOL)
What did everyone think about the opening ceremony? I thought it was very imaginative, but some of it was kind of strange.

A New Me

Wednesday, February 8th, 2006

Well, I bit the bullet and signed up for the online Weight Watchers today. It has been bugging me very much about how heavy I am. Trudging around the campus with a heavy book bag isn’t easy either.

I weighed this morning and I was 183. My goal weight is about 130. Weight Watchers thing says I should be 102-123. Sheesh..that would be like corpse thin. No thanks. I’ll see what 130 does for me.

The hardest part of this for me is giving up my Dr. Pepper. *sigh* But it will be worth it in the end. Anyone think I should do before and after pics?? Nah…might break the internet. ;)
