Get ready for the photos!!

Ok..first things first. I have to rave about a certain website and their WONDERFUL products! I ordered some Wood Beams from Aubrey at Goodies Unlimited for my spinning wheel. I spent Saturday evening putting it on my wheel. Look how pretty she looks now.

(You can scroll down a bit and find the photo of my wheel before I put the Wood Beams on.) This stuff is amazing. Totally non-toxic too. I also got some E-Balm and a bar of soap and I’m really enjoying those too. If you haven’t ever tried any of this, you really need to. Like Martha would say “It’s a Good Thing.” (I hope I don’t get sued for that!!)

Next up: Fiona is on the mend and doing really well after her surgery. Here’s a couple of new photos of her for your viewing pleasure.

Everyone say “awwwwww” now. Yes, she’s a whopping 5 lbs now.

This weekend (well yesterday since it rained all day Saturday) we built a sandbox for The Liam. We used landscape timbers and the box is 8′ x 8′ and four timbers deep. The boys enjoyed helping their Paw-Paw build the box.

“If I had a hammer………”

Finally some knitting content!!

Sock Bug Lacy Scallops Socks, some Opal yarn that I don’t know the color name. Anyone have any ideas??

Last but certainly not least, I went in to the LYS today to get some size 1 dpns (can we never have enough size 1 dpns??) and they were having their Bi-Annual sale and everything in the store was 20% off. So..I splurged just a bit.

Size 1 dpns and Size 0 dpns and some Wildfoote sock yarn (Brilliant Bouquet). I also got some point protectors but they didn’t seem to make the photo shoot. ;)

Happy Knitting everyone!!

I have participated in MyPoints for a while now and have redeemed my points several times. One time I got a $25 Barnes and Noble gift card and used it for A Gathering of Lace and one time I donated points to the red cross for the tsunami victims. When I reached the points level again this time I ordered another $25 B&N gift card. It came last week and I placed my order. Guess what came today??

Yay!! I ordered both these books and it only cost me $14. I promptly opened up Knitting Vintage Socks and what did I spy??

Oh! These are SO getting made. I ran my happy little butt all over google to find the best deal on the Louet Gems Merino Pearl that is called for and found it at Wendy’s (spaazilicious) store. I now have a cone of the Gems Pearl on the way to my house and even got to speak to the lovely Wendy herself.

Oh…shawl update

I’m on row 10 of the Diamond Madeira section.

Coming along swimmingly.

I have signed up for the Knitting Olympics. Am I a glutton or what?

I think I’m going to make Glorious Gloves. This will be a challenge for me more on the time front than the challenge of the project, but they are fairly challenging also.

Olympics

ps. I’m posting from history class. ;)

I have actually been knitting. I took a couple of shots of the shawl I’m working on. It’s kind of hard to see the pattern, but here goes anyway.

This is the Shetland Tea Shawl from A Gathering of Lace

I’m using some green yarn from handpaintedyarns. I’m using my size three rosewood (omgwonderfulomg) circs.
