I was knitting happily along on the Peace Shawl I’m on about row 110 or so (toward the end of the Forest Chart B if you have the pattern). I happened to stretch it out a bit to check my progress and I noticed that three or so of my trees are wonky. About 5 or 6 rows back. *le sigh* I have no problem tinking a row or two but tinking 5 or 6 rows will be agony. I haven’t perfected frogging a few rows and picking up the stitches yet.

I can hear you all now…chanting at me LIFELINE LIFELINE. I will have you know that I put one in after I finished the Stars section…and it broke.

I have put the shawl down for now and I’m working on a sock while I read blogs and LiveJournal. I will probably end up tinking back the 5 or 6 rows that I need to fix it because I don’t want to frog the whole thing. (unless one of you lovely knitters would like to come and retro fit me a lifeline ;) )

My Super Spiral shawl is now my “take with me” knitting. At least until I get to the border. It grows a few rows every time I go somewhere and have to sit a while.

Did anyone notice my favivon on your browser address bar??? That was fun to make. I learned how to do it HERE I’m not sure if you can make it work for things like blogger, but I’m sure someone else will know.

I have been having real problems with my internet lately.

Backstory - I have had cable internet with the local cable company since they started offering it here (sometime over three years ago - I was pregnant with the now 3 year old when I got it). This past March, they “upgraded” their service saying it would be faster etc etc. Ever since the upgrade, my computer will drop its internet connection with no notice and will not connect. When this first started, I could just unplug the modem and re plug in the modem and it would re-connect. One day about a month and a half ago I had to do that about 5 times in one hour and it got really annoying so I called tech support.

Tech support said I had “Low Power Levels” and sent someone out to fix it. He did something outside..and then replaced all the cable in the inside of the house. Ok..so I thought “Yay!! Problem fixed!!” Was I ever wrong, it kept doing the same stuff. Called tech support back. This time “Power Levels Too High”. *blink* They sent someone out and he did something..I don’t know what because I wasn’t here (my sister was).

Now..with all this you’d think my internet would be working smoothly. You’d be wrong. Now..my connection will die..and nothing I do will bring it back. Nothing the tech support guy does on the other end will bring it back either and they just say “I can’t connect with your modem.” Well Duh! Fix it you retards. Several times since I’ve had repairmen out and its still doing it.

Last night (in the middle of updating and re-doing my site) it dropped on me again. It was off for about 4 1/2 hours before I could get it to connect again. I had called the tech support people and they had no clue so they put in a service order on it for me. Just a bit ago, I got a phone call from the service technician that was to come out and check my stuff. She just wanted to know if my internet was connected. I said, yes it was at the moment, but it was dropping the connection all the time and I’d like it checked to see what the problem is. She said..”Oh..I know..I have tons of service orders for people who’s connections aren’t staying connected. I just want to know if you want me to still come out.” I said yes. She said something else that I don’t exactly remember, but the gist was that she really didn’t want to come out since it was connected right at this moment. I said…Never mind then, I’ll just call again..when it goes out again..and it will go out again. I’m about to call a supervisor.

It was really obvious that this repair person didn’t want to come to my house and check my service since it was working at this minute.

If I could switch providers I would, but this is the only one in town.

*end rant*
