I knit a couple of hats for the Dulaan Project in the past week or so. I think it’s a wonderful project and when I get paid I’ll mail these hats on so they can be distributed. It was Norma that brought my attention to the project so …Thanks Norma!!!

Now…the hats…

This one is an extremely bulky commercial yarn that I have no idea what it is, but it is extremely thick.

This one I made from some remnants of my own handspun yarn. I used double strands of yarn and the orange and yellow are a merino/romney blend and the stuff you see that’s dark (its actually blue, red, yellow and orange) is cormo. This hat came out nice and thick and cushy and will warm someone’s head up real nicely I think.

I used the 42 stitch hat pattern for the basis of both of them. I just added a ribbed fold up brim on the charcoal one to add a little to it. One of these hats with a bulky yarn can be knitted up in no time at all.

I’m off for now. I have to take The Liam to the doctor. This morning he woke up coughing and wheezing. It almost sounded like an asthma attack, but he doesn’t have asthma. He would cough and gag and then on his inhale he had an extremely strong wheeze. It was actually the wheeze that I heard that woke me up. I gave him some water to drink and he stopped coughing and then went to sleep in my bed til nearly 10:30 this morning. Hopefully it’s nothing serious. Right now he seems ok except for an occasional “clear your throat” type cough.

Have a nice day everyone!!
