March, 20th

I had such a good time! If you ever get a chance to go to a fiber retreat…DO IT!!.

I found out that Angela (whom I met once before at a spinning day) now has a blog. Everyone mosey on over and say HI! We hung out together at the retreat and had a blast. We both ended up each buying a raw fleece (for $20!!!!) and then we split them in half and shared them. Uhhuh..me..of the no fiber prep tools now has two 1/2 fleeces in a huge garbage bag in her living room. (minus the little bit in the sink that I’m test cleaning *wink*)

I’ve uploaded all my photos in my gallery. The link is on my sidebar and they are in the folder called Wildflower Fiber Retreat, but if you’re too lazy….GO HERE.

If you see something and you want an explanation, comment and I’ll tell you what was up.

Oh..I spent more money that I wanted to. My friend Midge makes the prettiest spindles out of glass..and I think the wood is ebony and she’s not going to make any more, so I bought one before they are all gone. In addition to the fleece, I bought 10 oz of some pretty brown wool. I’ve been to this lady’s farm and probably pet the sheep that it came from. Pretty cool huh??

I also bought some Opal sock yarn. It was hard to decide between all the colors available.

The photos of the wool, roving and the sock yarn are still on the camera and my batteries are dying so you’ll just have to wait for those.

OH..and what the heck was up with everyone..there’s 250 new posts on my bloglines. I told you to behave while I was gone. How am I ever going to keep up??

Well..I need to go rinse some wool..but I’ll leave you with this photo.

View from my cabin.

This is the view from my cabin’s back porch at about 7 a.m. on Saturday morning.

EDITED TO ADD: I totally forgot! I got to meet the editor/publisher of InKnitter’s Magazine. She is really nice and a wonderful knitter/crocheter. We got a free copy of the new Crochet Fantasy magazine (also published by InKnitter’s) and a preview of the next InKnitters.

Also…and this was so strange. Loraine walked up to me and said…”Are you KnitSteph?” I told her yes and she said “I read your blog all the time, but I don’t have one of my own.” It felt almost celebrity-ish. Is that a word??? LOL

How cool is that?? Hiya Loraine (I hope I’m spelling your name right!!) Thanks for reading my blog!!
