What color is this sock??

Saturday, February 26th, 2005

I thought of doing this while knitting this sock…because…you see…

It looks the same in color or greyscale. Yeah..I’m a geek.

Specs of sock:
Regia sock yarn
Size 0 needles
NanKnits Band Heel Sock Pattern
I need to update my progress button. ;)

I did cast on for Rogue sometime Wednesday afternoon. I am past the hem and about 13 rows into the first chart. I don’t have a photo yet, it would just look like a big eggplant colored blob I think. Maybe one when I’m further along.

I have decided that I will NOT cast on anything else until I have finished something that is on the needles now. I really want to start the glorious gloves with the nummy cashmere yarn, so I think this will propel me to finish something. (most likely socks!)

I have been spinning some too. I actually picked up my drop spindle and started with some orangey/red (reddish orange??) romney/merino that I had laying around. I have a bunch of it as well as some yellow of the same fiber and I’m thinking maybe it would make neat socks. Yellow heels, toes and cuffs and orange for the rest. I’ll try to get a photo when its not cloudy so you can see the true colors. I just think that socks from my own handspun would be totally cool!!

Well..off to disinfect this house since everyone is finally done with the stomach virus crap. *waves*

O…M…G

I would NOT wish yesterday’s sickness on my worst enemy. The Liam had a little stomach virus over the weekend and I guess that I got what he did. I puked my guts up from 8:30 am until around 2 pm (in 15 to 20 minute intervals). I’ve never been so miserable in my life. Carmen had it too. I spent all the time I wasn’t in the bathroom in my bed. Now I’m realizing that I have stomach muscles. *ouch* My ribs hurt too, but hey I’m vertical!!!

I’m going to try to run out and mail out the prizes for the contest later today.

I ordered some yarn from Elann last week. I got the highland wool (16 balls) and I think I’m going to use it for a rogue. (notice I said “a” rogue- it’s a sickness, I swear). My sister brought in the mail to me yesterday afternoon and I opened the box and put the yarn in bed with me and went back to sleep. Yes, I’m a weirdo. I need to finish up a few things first. HAHA – yeah right!!

At one moment of semi lucidity yesterday I decided I would try to knit. I picked up my regia sock and knit one row of the heel flap. I tried to do the purl side, and was shaking so bad I had to put it down. Hopefully more knitting will get done today.

Well..I’m a dumbass..

I was going to mail out the prizes today for my contest. I am sooo out of it I didn’t even remember that today is a mail holiday. I won’t have a chance to mail them out tomorrow due to school, but I will get the prizes in the mail on Wednesday first thing in the morning.

Sorry ladies!

You have until Midnight to enter my contest. I’ve gotten quite a few entries and they are all wonderful. Please keep em coming folks!!

Yesterday I got an email from a friend of mine that runs the Wildflower Fiber Retreat. She said that she had just realized that she forgot to send me the information about the retreat (registration forms etc) and that since she had forgotten she was holding me the very last spot. I’m going to the fiber retreat!!! I had forgotten about it myself, but I’m glad she remembered to send it to me. It’s the weekend of March 18th and I think it’s going to be wonderful fun! Expect lots of photos!!

I’ve started the second aran sock and I’ve just finished the ribbing, I ordered some peruvian highland wool from elann to make a rogue. I’m definately going to be making the socks in the new IK. So much fiber, so little time!!

1/2 of a FO and some testing

Wednesday, February 16th, 2005

I finished a sock this afternoon.

This is calld Aran Braid sock. Theres a link to it on my sidebar. (In the my knitting bookmarks link) I’ve already cast on for the second one. Am I working on my english paper that’s due tomorrow?? No, of course not, I’m knitting.

Oh..remember a few entries back I told you I ordered some roving?? I did up a little on my drop spindle to see what it looks like spun up.

The little test skein. Sorry it looks so crappy.

The colors are truer here. Much more realistic.

I’d better get off of here and go write that paper huh? Anyone into writing a 3-4 page analysis of a piece of short fiction??
