This little fellow came to live with us about two weeks ago.

He was born behind a friend of mine’s house and my friend was worried about the other very much larger male cats hurting him. He’s a bit wild and he hid for about 4 days and we didn’t see hide nor hair of him. He still won’t come to us voluntarily, but he’s figured out the litterbox and he is now roaming about the house more instead of hiding under my dresser.

We don’t have a name for this little boy yet. I think he needs something in his name that means “disappearing” or “vanishing” because he’s very very good at not being found. The kids like Topaz (heck if I know??!!??) but I think that’s too girly.

Any ideas???

EDIT!! They just posted the President’s Honor Roll list… Here Look for the city Longview and I’m the first one. ;)

How about Phantom, Geist, Ghost, Spook, Smoke

  2. Amanda Says:

Vamoos (sp?). Though, i’m sure that would get shortened to Moose in sort order!

  3. elka Says:

kyler means clear which is a synonym of vanish as in to clear out of here

How about “Adi”, short for “Adios” . . . as in:
    - “Where’s the cat?”
    - “He went adios”

BTW, I finally found your new space . . . congrats on the new domain, etc, etc. I was
afraid you’d dropped off the face of the earth or something.

I think this kitty needs respect. How about Mr. Bojangles?
I always refer to my kitties as Miss so and so.

    Houdini?

Give him some time - his entire world has changed quite a lot. I’m sure a year from now he’ll be so protective of you, and none of you will ever remember life without before eachother!

    Big congrats to you!!!

OK, my nomination for a name is….Sock. As in “Missing Sock.” As in “Where the heck is my other handknit sock?”

  8. Kristy Says:

How about Vapor (as in evaporate or vaporize)?? That or Evan -
short for evanesce. Just a thought - we have had 6 puppies to name
in the last few weeks, so I am about out of names!!!

  11. La Says:

oooh, what about Bamph! as in the mutant power Nightcrawler from X-men had?

Okay, here’s the obligatory ideas: Spanish words: “hidden” = escondido (how about dido for short?)
    “disappeared” = desaparecido ; or
French words: “hidden” = cache’ (that’s an accent mark); or “disappeared” = disaparu
or how about the same word, like backword? neddih (like Neddy), or raeppasid??

Sorry my ideas are lame! I always ended up naming my cats names like “Gray” or something like that.
